A Snowy Sleep launch: a wonderful afternoon in Bandon

What a lovely afternoon we had yesterday at Bandon Books Plus! The launch of A Snowy Sleep, A Tale of Hibernation brought together a wonderful crowd of readers, friends, families, and book lovers, all there to support the book's brilliant creators, Jess Lynch and Monika Pollak.

Huge congratulations to Jess on the successful launch of her debut book. Seeing your first book welcomed so warmly by readers is a special milestone, and it was wonderful to see so many people turn out to share the occasion. We’re incredibly proud of you! And Monika’s beautiful illustrations make this gentle story of hibernation all the more special. Together, you’ve created a lovely introduction to one of nature’s most fascinating seasonal secrets.

Thank you to everyone who came along to Bandon Books Plus. Whether you travelled especially for the event, picked up a copy, brought the children, or simply stopped by to show your support, you helped make the afternoon memorable. For a small independent publisher, seeing so much enthusiasm for a new book means a great deal.

We’re also very grateful to Leona Forde for launching A Snowy Sleep for us, and to the wonderful team at Bandon Books Plus for hosting such a warm and welcoming event. And thank you to Silvia (@simplysylviac) for sharing her lovely video of the day, giving us another way to remember it all.

At Natural World Publishing, we believe children's books can open a little window onto the natural world. A Snowy Sleep does just that, inviting young readers to discover what happens when winter arrives and some of our wild neighbours settle down for the cold months ahead. Seeing that story reach its readers, and watching people gather around a book about nature, is a lovely moment.
