“One stormy evening, a huge gust of wind gathered itselfup over the bitter sea, rushed across the rocky plain, and threw itself fiercely at the misty mountain. Nell, sitting in her usual spot, watched as the filthy fumes shifted and the mountain was finally revealed to her. Nell’s head was filled with all the colours in the paintbox as the most dazzling light she had ever seen poured through her grimy window. It was golden and warm, peachy, and calm, and it was the most wonderful thing she had ever seen. Just as quickly as it had happened, the wind dropped, the fumes returned, and the mountain was hidden once more, but Nell was already busy painting, trying to capture the beauty she had seen, so she could remember it always.”
